Creating content that translates globally with hand-in-glove video production and audiovisual translation services

The company’s symbol is the magnolia flower, whose blooms are pinkish-purple. It is also called a “compass flower” in Japan because the tips of its buds are said to always point north. As the media industry transforms and diversifies, we prioritize a human focus and values, and use the power of images and language to produce content that will salve and satisfy viewer’s hearts and minds. And like the magnolia flower, we hope to act as a guide always pointing in the right direction.

From the CEO

Perhaps you have heard of the 1989 Hollywood movie “Steel Magnolias.” It is a warm drama tracing the friendship and love lives of six women living in a small town in America’s South.
A fresh-faced Julia Roberts had just made her film debut, and was nominated for an Academy Award for her performance. You will no doubt understand the title of the film if you have seen the movie.

At Magnolia Company, we have produced the Japanese version of many overseas documentaries over the years, and many women have contributed to their completion. The job involves meticulous production work and robust adaptation skills to create a Japanese version that still retains the originality of the foreign program. The kind of spirit embodied in the brave, shrewd and strong, yet warm and human, magnolias of the film is also needed in our work.
As the media industry transforms and diversifies, we prioritize a human focus and values, and continue producing honest programs. Going forward, we will channel our energies into producing content that salves and satisfies viewer’s hearts and minds using the power of images and language. Magnolia is here to support companies who want to proudly promote their businesses with that kind of content. We hope to be the “steel magnolias” of the creative workspace while also making what small contribution we can to society.
